7 Tips for daily training for your dog

With all your joy, with all your cuteness, you must not forget one thing: You must ensure a good living together.

We read and hear it again and again. The more frequently we ask for our dog, the harder the exercises are. But there are always times, there simply will not work. Good to know what we can do then.

  • End when it's most beautiful

Everything runs like clockwork, the dog is enthusiastic about the thing and you cheer internally? Then set yourself a time goal. You should not ask your four-legged partner for more than 15 minutes at a time, even if it shows no signs of fatigue. Otherwise, you risk a sudden drop in power or unhealthy heating up. Complete your "school hour" with a game unit or a cuddly round.

  • False ambition hurts

Learning and internalizing new needs its time. If your dog has understood something and follows promptly the command, do not go one step further. Let him and the joy of the newly learned. A few routine exercises, which he already mastered, are better. Then repeat your lesson with him and look forward to his remembrance.

  • Back to start is often good

Your dog is unconcentrated, restless, distracted by everything around him? And you realize that he does not listen properly if you ask him something complicated or new? Then it is best to take a short break (maybe he just has to solve it) before you start again - but this time with exercises that give him success.

  • Not always a treat

Going to a workout with a hungry dog is as unfavorable as with someone who has hit the stomach. At least two hours a larger meal should be sacked. He should have fasted for a maximum of six hours, so he does not think exclusively of the treats you carry. You should not give it to him unceasingly after each completed exercise. Change from: Sometimes there is a verbal praise, sometimes a short stroking, sometimes a toy, which he can pursue, catch and retrieve, and in between always something delicious. They avoid the dog from demanding his reward (not his confirmation).

  • Never from zero to a hundred

We, humans, live by the clock. If lessons are, then we start on time. The dog is ticking differently. He wants to sniff, orient himself and, above all, the blood circulation and the head "free". The best prerequisites for this are offered to him if you run a few hundred meters with him before you start your exercises, give him a stroke and concentrate on him. This increases his desire for "more", even if the more than exercises.

  • Dear double motivated

You really do not feel like training and exercises? Then leave it. Your bad mood automatically transmits to the dog, which correctly interprets your mind and your body language. Besides, you are more impatient if you are only working out of the duty of the dog. The same is true when you feel uncomfortable. Only when both you and the dog are motivated does the exercises work.

  • The whole thing backward

This is especially true of monotonous obedience exercises. Bring change into the "seat", "place", "stay" and "here" exercises. To bring the dog out of the running into the "seat", then again into the "standing" or "place", let him go from the "place" into the "seat", from the fast run into a leisurely "foot" , Asks him mentally and prevents him from boredom the exercises 08/15 and always more cutting-edge. Gently reverse the usual routine. Change it!

With us humans the targeted warm-up before any sporting effort belongs almost as a matter of course - we usually learn this during the school sport. In dogs, it is often neglected. The correct warm-up in the dog is of crucial importance for the prevention of overloads and injuries in dog sports.
