Dane Jensen is an effectual corporate headhunter who works at the Blackridge Recruitment agency. As the movie opens Jensen is demonstrated to be focused on his work. His chief Ed Blackridge is offering Jensen a promotion that will command to Jensen regulating the company. His lady Elise asks him for more of his time with the family. Jensen tries hard to spend some time with his oldest child Ryan, to ready Ryan for the adult world. Jensen discovers Ryan on the verge of childhood corpulence and they go to jogging in the morning. Jensen works harder and spends more time at the office to try to get the promotion. Ryan is later diagnosed with cancer, which shocks Jensen. He decides to spend more time with his son. The movie culminates with Ryan falling into a coma before getting better. Jensen losing his job at Ed's firm because due to not making a profit.
