The Leisure Seeker is an upcoming 2017 Italian-American road movie and has an awesome movie trailer. It was directed by Paolo Virzì and written by Francesca Archibugi, Paolo Virzì, Francesco Piccolo, Stephen Amidon and also his first full English-language film. The film is based on a novel by Michael Zadoorian. Its cast stars Kirsty Mitchell, Dick Gregory, Joshua Mikel, Janel Moloney, Robert Walker Branchaud, Donald Sutherland and Helen Mirren. The film will be released on January 19, 2018 (USA), by Sony Pictures Classics.
The Leisure Seeker, a road movie short on comedy and drama. Here insight is scarce and emotional resonance is faint. Ella and John happily hit at the road, spending nights and stopping at diners at camper sites. Where they project old family slides onto a screen and welcome other RV owners who’ve clearly got nothing more entertaining, than view a couple of strangers. John’s lucidity are unpredictable and Ella is emotionally weary from watching her adored husband lose his memory.
A couple runaway embarks on a cross-country journey from Boston to the Florida to escape from the suffocating care of their doctors and grown children. It’s hard to miss the rising tide of films made for and about baby boomers crossing the 70-year threshold. But unless the bar is raised pretty soon, the genre’s limited thematic and stylistic range is likely to run it into the ground.
