Thomas Edison, in 1880s, astonishes the world by brightening a chapter of Manhattan at night using his new-fangled electrical light. Westinghouse, whose business had until that moment been founded on gas, resolves to challenge him with a several system. Edison favoured straight current and Westinghouse alternative current and it was a titanic war of personalities and ideas.  In this film incidentally involved a fearsome minor battle.
