With a marvelous movie trailer, The Dinner is an American drama thriller film guided
and created by Oren Moverman. The film had its world premiere at the Berlin
movie Festival on February 10, 2017. The film is preset to be released on May
5, 2017, by The Orchard.
Based on
Herman Koch’s worldwide bestselling novel, Oren Moverman’s THE DINNER is a
dismal psychological thriller about a ferocious showdown among two couples
during the course of an ornately ready meal at a fancy restaurant. When Stan
Lohman (Richard Gere), an exoteric congressman running for governor, calls his
hectic junior brother Paul (Steve Coogan) and his wife Claire (Laura Linney) to
join him and his wife Katelyn (Rebecca Hall) for dinner at one of the city’s
most stylish restaurants, the stage is place for a tense night. A riveting tale
filled with many damned twists and turns, THE DINNER is a cool parable about
the uncivilized reality hidden beneath the surface of central-class lives.
